As the immortal Steven Wright used to say, "...Women. Can't live with 'em, can't shoot 'em." Sif would be the poster girl for this sentiment; Thorim can't be happy with her duplicitous actions, leading to acting as an agent for Yogg against humble, do-gooder raiders such as ourselves. We're betting he wished he had reconsidered his choice of mate after TDC got through with him.
The Thorim fight is an absolute blast, and one that takes excellent raid coordination in addition to quality play to beat. In P1, the raid group must be divided into two teams, one to remain in the arena while the smaller group must run a gauntlet to Thorim in order to start P2. In the arena, the bulk of the raid must deal with constantly spawning adds with significant raid killing abilities, which require high dps, multi-target tanking, and critical interrupt management. While the arena team is handling all this chaos, the tunnel team is running through the gauntlet, requiring the defeat of both normal mobs and two mini-bosses. The tunnel team must balance add control and speed in order to reach the end of the gauntlet, and Thorim, in enough time to start P2 and complete the encounter. Once P2 starts, Thorim jumps down into the arena (quickly followed by the tunnel team), and proceeds to cause mayhem to the raid. Tanks must juggle Thorim, while the raid must address any remaining adds before starting work on Thorim, all the while minimizing significant raid splash damage. P2 ends either when the raid gets Thorim to 1%, or he enrages. It's chaos at its most enjoyable!
The challenge in this encounter for TDC was finding the right balance between the arena and tunnel groups, which allowed us to get to P2. Once P1 was mastered, Thorim went down like a ton of bricks, all the while muttering something about "a trial separation". Shoulda thought of that before, big guy.
